WOODSIDE: Living In An Urban Park
Robert Powell, one of Sacramento’s most visionary builders, imagined urban living in a peaceful forest. He entrusted that vision to internationally acclaimed architect Donald Sandy, who brought his rustic, uncluttered home designs from coastal Sea Ranch and Monterey. Decades later, their shared vision endures with timeless architecture surrounded by nature. With homes clustered among more than 3,000 trees of 50 different species from Birch to mature Redwoods and flowering Redbuds, Dogwoods, and Crape Myrtle spread over 56 acres, Woodside offers a calming respite from the bustle of city life, but within walking distance of fine dining and shopping and the American River Parkway and mere 15 minutes from downtown Sacramento. Community activities are centered in the spacious clubhouse, where residents can relax with a book from the lending library or work up a sweat in the gym. Swimming pools are spread throughout the property and a tennis court beckons players, adjacent to a dog park for our residents’ furry friends. Whether they have an active lifestyle, or simply enjoy meandering around the pathways and byways, 725 families of all ages call this place home and enjoy the vision that created Woodside as a residential urban park. |
